Mary Lou and Tommy
Everett purchased Sawyer’s Boats and Repairs on
December 29, 2006 from Louise and J D Sawyer. Mr.
Sawyer had been in the boat business for 40 years
and was very well known in the area for providing
excellent service to customers. Mary Lou and Tommy
worked with the Sawyers beginning in their college
years (several years ago) gaining experience in the
business. In the past two years, they have
attended Suzuki motor shows with Louise to learn
the business and Tommy has visited the boat
manufacturers many times in order to make transition
easier. Both Louise and J D are available for
consultation and they enjoy a good working
relationship with the new owners.
 Mary Lou left her
job in the corporate world and is running the
business. Mary Lou has worked in corporate
accounting for 32 years and is eager to work with
customers to help them purchase the best boat to
meet their needs and desires. She enjoys meeting
new people and giving them the best deal possible to
fulfill their dreams. Her days are filled with
laughter and fun as she works with Daniel Brice – a
30 year marine mechanic veteran known all through
eastern North Carolina. Daniel began working for
Mr. Sawyer when he was fifteen and has gone to
training and certification schools and has extensive
experience in all marine engine repair. Daniel’s
experience and training are an asset to the business
and our repeat customers from throughout North
Carolina will attest to it.
Since Mary Lou and
Tommy are both lifetime residents of Tyrrell County,
they love spending time with their family and
enjoying the beautiful nights from their deck
looking on the Albemarle Sound. They are both
members of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church
in Columbia and have two grown daughters Nancy and
Beth. They have always supported community
projects. They consider themselves fortunate to
live and make their home in their hometown. They
consider Tyrrell County “God’s Country” and love the
people around them. They want to meet the needs of
the community with the best products as shown on our
home page. Tommy and Mary Lou are fulfilling their
lifetime dream of owning a marine store in Tyrrell
County, they would like to help you fulfill
